Availability of champion dogs and puppies

Before a litter is even bred or born, many reputable breeders have a waiting list for their puppies. There are two reasons why:

  1. Reputable breeders typically do not produce many litters a year. In addition, Manchester Terriers typically only have 2-4 puppies. Because of the infrequency of litters, you must be patient in your search and I do encourage you to get on the Spiceisle waiting list. If a puppy does not work out for you in that litter, we will refer you right away to another reputable breeder who may be able to help.
  2. There are many people who would like to purchase a puppy from a reputable source. Spiceisle puppies reflect the accomplishments, successes and superior care, temperament, health & bloodlines behind our dogs.

If you're willing to make the commitment, a show prospect puppy may be the route you choose. If you've never had a show dog before, it opens a whole new, exciting world to you. You will own a beautiful representative of the breed, make life-long friends, see new places, and enjoy the excitement of competing. Because of the infrequency of Spiceisle litters, you must be patient and if you want a Spiceisle puppy, I encourage you to get on my waiting list. Your patience will be rewarded and the wait will have been worth it, once you have your little Spice puppy in your arms!

We are very active in conformation show ring and our dogs are always owner handled – while breeding to improve each new generation of pups. If you'd like to inquiry about any of our Manchester Terriers please call us at (509) 489-4663, email zandi, or complete our contact form. We do, however, prefer a one-to-one phone conversation first. Ultimately we will need to speak to you in person before you get your puppy anyway.

Keeping the written standard in mind, I strive for the Toy Manchester Terrier's eye-catching beauty, natural elegance, glorious rich color, correct size and soundness. Form to function should always apply to our Manchesters. Even though the Toy Manchester Terrier (TMT) is classified as a Toy with AKC, they still must have agility, strength and endurance to do the job they were bred for - hunting and chasing. Toy Manchester breeders know that these little dogs can be very serious munchers, so special attention should always be paid to their diet. With that in mind, some topics to cover on the phone, in person or through the contact form:

  • Where are you located?
  • What exactly are you looking for (sex, age, show prospect or companion)?
  • Why, out of all the breeds out there, did you decide on a manchester terrier?
  • Do you have any children? What are their ages?
  • Do you have any other animals? What/how many? How old?
  • Have you ever surrendered an animal to a pound or Humane Society? Explain.
  • Have you ever had a litter of puppies or kittens?
  • What are your living accommodations?
  • How many hours a day will your puppy have company?
  • Where will he/she be kept when you are not home?
  • Is your family financially stable enough to support all the expenses of having a dog for the lifetime of that animal?
  • What type of work do you do?
  • Would you be willing to have a home visit and/or give references?
  • Are you on any other breeders' waiting lists?
